Weekend Update (11/9)

Weekend Update is simply a number of links that I think would be helpful and fun for ministry leaders.

Why Pastors Should Be In Small Groups / I totally agree with Josh here, especially about #1.

7 Things a Pastor’s Kid Needs from a Father / Thankful for this post and perspective from Barnabas Piper.

Abandoned Suitcases Reveal Private Lives of Insane Asylum Patients / This is so random, but I found it fascinating.

The Great Tragedy of the 2012 Election / “The tragedy of the 2012 election is that in this land of the free and home of the brave, many people were not allowed to vote. Their voices were silenced. Their votes were not cast. Their opinions not expressed. Why? Because they were dead.”

The Science of Procrastination / This helps me make more sense of what I experienced this week.

I was born and raised in Denver, CO and lived there through high school. Then I moved to Champaign, IL where I attended the University of Illinois and played on the Fighting Illini baseball team. I was married in December, 2001 to Molly, who I met at the U of I. In June of 2002, we moved to Phoenix and have been here ever since. In July of 2006, we welcomed a baby girl, Abby, into our family.
