Weekend Update (2/8)

Here’s some stuff to check out that I think might be helpful and fun for you.

A Christian Walks Into Barnes and Noble / Great article on why Christians shouldn’t be afraid of culture: “The Christian, who sees everything in the light of the Word of God, is anything but narrow in his view. He is generous in heart and mind. He looks over the whole earth and reckons it all his own, because he is Christ’s and Christ is God’s (1 Cor. 3:21–23).”

Don’t Follow John Wesley’s Model of Marriage / I guess ministry leaders have always been prone to sacrifice their families on the altar of ministry.

The Best 3 Places to Find Sermon Illustrations: From Jay Z to Brian Regan / Eric McKiddie often has helpful stuff on preaching. This post is no exception.

Advice for Parenting Young Kids / Parenting gold from Steve McCoy. I’m thankful for how Ron and Kathy Grebe, Tim Maughan, and Tom and Susan Shrader have taught me and Molly many of these same things.

Damsel Arise / Fascinating piece on the granddaughter of Fred Phelps leaving Westboro Baptist Church.

2-Year Old Trick Shot Video / This little guy is remarkable.

I was born and raised in Denver, CO and lived there through high school. Then I moved to Champaign, IL where I attended the University of Illinois and played on the Fighting Illini baseball team. I was married in December, 2001 to Molly, who I met at the U of I. In June of 2002, we moved to Phoenix and have been here ever since. In July of 2006, we welcomed a baby girl, Abby, into our family.
